The Brainiacs Science Project Olympiad is a global competition that brings together the brightest young minds from Grades 5 through 12. It provides an unparalleled platform to showcase innovation, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Brainiacs Science Project Olympiad includes:

Each project may be prepared and submitted by up to three students. Participants may submit projects addressing topics including but not limited to:

• Engineering
• Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
• Environmental Science
• Healthy Life
• Business
• Social Studies
• Space Exploration

• Project Submission Deadline: January 20, 2026
• Finalists Announcement: January 25, 2026

1. Project description paper: research paper (with data, graphics, photos, and drawings of the design concept, scenario, business plan or investment proposal-all financing should be converted into US dollars) in PDF format. The recommended maximum page limit is 20 pages including executive summary.

2. Presentation: PPT (or similar) up to 10 slides in PDF format.

3. Participants should also (in addition to Research Paper) prepare and submit a QUAD paper for their research. This is optional but highly recommended.

4. Other optional materials: photos, videos, brochures, posters, etc.

5. All project materials must be submitted ONLY in English.

6. Projects without results will not be accepted.

7. By submitting an application, you give rights to Brainiacs Olympiad to freely use your work in any purpose.

Projects will be assessed based on the following criteria (Total: 100 points):

• Innovation and Creativity: 20 points
• Scientific and Technical Content: 20 points
• Technical Expertise: 20 points
• Practical Application: 20 points
• Documentation: 20 points

Participants scoring at least 40 in the Preliminary Round qualify for the Global Round. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

1. All participants must bring printed copies of their Detailed Project Report (research papers). Research papers must:

• Be concise, the recommended maximum page limit is 20 pages (excluding references) with acceptable font sizes 11 or 12 for Calibri or Arial font types and page margins one inch or more (2.5 cm) from each side.
• Be written in English.

2. Participants should also (in addition to Research Paper) prepare and submit a QUAD paper for their research. This is optional but highly recommended. Participants are advised (but not required) to bring several copies of their final QUAD paper to share with interested judges.

3. Posters: must be not less than 90cm×120cm size. The poster presentation must include at least the following sections: introduction, goal, results and conclusion. It is not forbidden to bring your own poster board.

4. Prototypes and models are highly recommended to complement presentation.

5. Participants may revise or improve their projects between the Preliminary and Global Rounds.

6. The Presentation Hall will be equipped with 220 V electrical outlets. Participants may use electricity if needed. Note: Type G sockets are commonly used in Malaysia.

7. The Presentation Hall will also be equipped with the screen to display the presentation (or any other material). Participants may also use their own computer or display of any kind to screen their presentation.

8. The following items are prohibited from being displayed: microbial cultures or fungi (both live and dead); live animals or preserved vertebrate animals, in whole or in part (including humans); open or concealed flames, matches, or lighters; hazardous chemicals; highly combustible solids, liquids, or gases; sharp objects (such as syringes, needles, and knives); controlled substances; and radioactive materials.

9. Supervisors are not allowed at the judging area during judging sessions.

Projects will be assessed based on the following criteria (Total: 100 points):

• Innovation and Creativity: 20 points
• Scientific and Technical Content: 15 points
• Presentation Quality: 15 points
• Technical Expertise: 15 points
• Practical Application: 15 points
• Teamwork: 10 points
• Documentation: 10 points

1. Each presentation must not exceed 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

2. The competition will be conducted entirely in English. All presentations and materials must be delivered solely in English.

3. All team members must be actively involved and knowledgeable about the project. The judges will evaluate collaboration and shared effort during assessment.

In the Global Round, medals are awarded based on the percentage distribution relative to the total number of participants:

• Top 10% (0-10%) – Gold Medals
• Next 20% (11-30%) – Silver Medals
• Next 30% (31-60%) – Bronze Medals
• Following 15% (61-75%) – Honorable Mentions

All participants receive a Certificate of Participation
