Scholarship Terms and Conditions

The Brainiacs Olympiad, in partnership with Xiamen University Malaysia, is proud to offer up to 50% scholarships to medal-winning students. These scholarships are subject to the following terms and conditions. By accepting a scholarship, recipients agree to adhere to these terms.

Eligibility

  • Scholarships are awarded to students who win medals (gold, silver, bronze) and an Honorable Mention at the Brainiacs Olympiad.
  • Recipients must meet the academic and admission requirements of Xiamen University Malaysia. These requirements may differ from country to country.
  • The scholarship is only available to students applying for undergraduate programs at Xiamen University Malaysia.

Scholarship Coverage

  • The scholarship covers up to 50% of tuition fees for the duration of the selected undergraduate program.
  • The scholarship does not include accommodation, travel, visa fee, insurance or other living expenses. Recipients are responsible for these costs.

Application Process

  • Medal-winning students must apply for the scholarship through the coordination Scholarship Office of the Brainiacs Olympiad.
  • All required documents, including proof of medal achievement, academic transcripts, and personal identification, must be submitted by the application deadline.
  • Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Academic Requirements

  • Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) as specified by Xiamen University Malaysia.
  • Failure to meet the academic requirements will result in the termination of the scholarship.

Conduct and Attendance

  • Recipients are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of Xiamen University Malaysia.
  • Poor conduct, disciplinary actions, or consistent absenteeism may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.

Deferral and Withdrawal

  • Scholarships cannot be deferred to subsequent academic years. Recipients must commence their studies in the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • If a recipient withdraws from their program, the scholarship will be terminated, and the recipient may be required to reimburse the university for the tuition fees covered.

Non-Transferability

  • The scholarship is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other benefits.
  • Scholarships are awarded to individual recipients and cannot be transferred to other students.

Promotional Use

  • By accepting the scholarship, recipients agree to allow the Brainiacs Olympiad and Xiamen University Malaysia to use their names, photos, and achievements for promotional purposes.

Force Majeure

  • The scholarship may be subject to change or cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, or changes in university policy.
