Terms & Conditions

By registering for or participating in the Brainiacs Olympiad, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before participation.

01Eligibility and Participation

  • 1.1Brainiacs Olympiad is an international academic competition open to eligible students according to the age, grade, and participation requirements published on the official website.
  • 1.2Participants must provide accurate and complete information, including their full name, date of birth, grade, school, country, and contact details.
  • 1.3Participants may enter only disciplines and categories for which they are eligible.
  • 1.4By registering, participants and, where applicable, their parent, guardian, school, or authorized representative confirm that the information provided is accurate.
  • 1.5Brainiacs Olympiad may verify participant information and reject or cancel registrations containing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information.

02Olympiad Structure

  • 2.1The Olympiad may include online and/or in-person stages, depending on the official structure announced for the relevant edition.
  • 2.2The competition may include a Preliminary Round and Global Finals.
  • 2.3The Preliminary Round assesses participants according to the applicable discipline requirements, qualification rules, and scoring criteria.
  • 2.4Qualifying participants may be invited to the applicable Global Final.
  • 2.5There are two separate Global Finals:
    • SHAPE Disciplines Global Final
    • STEM Disciplines Global Final
  • 2.6Qualification criteria, dates, examination formats, project requirements, and other participation conditions may differ between disciplines.

03Disciplines

  • 3.1Brainiacs Olympiad currently includes:
    • SHAPE Disciplines: English; History; Movie & Animation; Arts; Brainiacs Talk; Business Studies; Social Project; Spelling Bee.
    • STEM Disciplines: Mathematics; Coding; Physics; Biology; Chemistry; Geography; Science Project; Artificial Intelligence; Robotics.
  • 3.2Brainiacs Olympiad may modify, add, remove, rename, or reorganize disciplines for a particular edition. Changes will be communicated through the official platform or website.
  • 3.3Official discipline names shall be used consistently on the website, registration system, certificates, medals, announcements, and other official materials.

04Registration

  • 4.1Registration must be completed through the official Brainiacs Olympiad registration system or an authorized registration channel.
  • 4.2Registration is complete only after all required information has been submitted and, where applicable, the required fee has been paid.
  • 4.3Participants are responsible for checking their personal information and selected disciplines before completing registration.
  • 4.4Registration may not be transferred to another person without prior authorization.
  • 4.5Brainiacs Olympiad may establish registration deadlines. Late registrations may not be accepted.

05Fees and Payments

  • 5.1Participation fees, where applicable, are determined by Brainiacs Olympiad according to the relevant round, discipline, country, or participation category.
  • 5.2Fees must be paid according to the instructions provided by the official registration system or an authorized representative.
  • 5.3Participants are responsible for making payments correctly and on time.
  • 5.4Unless Brainiacs Olympiad expressly states otherwise, confirmed registration and participation fees are non-refundable.
  • 5.5Optional services, products, transportation, accommodation, or other expenses not included in the participation fee must be paid separately by the participant or accompanying person.
  • 5.6Brainiacs Olympiad is not responsible for bank charges, currency-conversion fees, or other charges imposed by banks or payment providers.

06Examination and Assessment

  • 6.1Examination disciplines may use different formats, including multiple-choice questions, score-based assessments, written or oral tasks, practical tasks, or other approved formats.
  • 6.2Project-based disciplines require participants to submit their work through the official platform within the specified period.
  • 6.3Assessment methods, scoring systems, qualification thresholds, duration, number of questions, submission requirements, and other academic requirements may vary by discipline.
  • 6.4Participants must follow all examination and submission instructions.
  • 6.5Brainiacs Olympiad determines the final score and ranking according to the applicable assessment criteria.

07Academic Integrity

  • 7.1Participants must compete honestly and fairly.
  • 7.2Unauthorized assistance, materials, devices, communication channels, artificial assistance, or other methods intended to gain an unfair advantage are prohibited.
  • 7.3Participants may not impersonate another person or allow another person to complete an examination, task, or submission for them.
  • 7.4Examination questions, answers, confidential competition materials, and restricted information must not be shared with other participants.
  • 7.5Cheating, plagiarism, impersonation, unauthorized collaboration, result manipulation, or other academic-integrity violations may result in disqualification.
  • 7.6Brainiacs Olympiad may investigate suspected violations and request additional information or evidence when necessary.

08Project Submissions

  • 8.1Required projects must be submitted through the designated platform or according to the official submission instructions.
  • 8.2Projects must be the participant’s own work unless collaboration is expressly permitted.
  • 8.3Plagiarized, copied, purchased, fabricated, or improperly obtained work is prohibited.
  • 8.4Late submissions may be rejected or penalized according to the relevant discipline rules.
  • 8.5Projects may be assessed for originality, accuracy, relevance, presentation, methodology, creativity, technical quality, and other discipline-specific criteria.
  • 8.6Brainiacs Olympiad may reject projects that violate applicable laws, intellectual-property rights, competition rules, or standards of appropriate conduct.

09Qualification and Rankings

  • 9.1Qualification for a Global Final is determined according to the official rules applicable to the relevant discipline and Olympiad edition.
  • 9.2Participants who achieve 40 points or higher in the Preliminary Round qualify for the applicable Global Final. The assessment method used to determine the score may vary by discipline, including scores, percentages, rankings, or other discipline-specific criteria.
  • 9.3Qualification in one discipline does not automatically qualify a participant for another discipline.
  • 9.4Final rankings and awards are determined using the official results recorded by Brainiacs Olympiad.
  • 9.5In the event of a tie, Brainiacs Olympiad may apply additional criteria, tie-breaking procedures, or other methods specified for the relevant discipline.

10Global Finals

  • 10.1Qualifying participants may be invited to the applicable Global Final according to the official qualification rules.
  • 10.2The SHAPE Disciplines Global Final and STEM Disciplines Global Final are separate competition categories.
  • 10.3Global Final dates, locations, formats, schedules, participation requirements, and applicable fees will be announced through official Brainiacs Olympiad communications.
  • 10.4Participation in a Global Final may require separate registration or confirmation.
  • 10.5Participants and accompanying persons are responsible for required travel documents, visas, insurance, transportation, accommodation, and other personal travel requirements unless expressly included in an official Brainiacs Olympiad package.

11Certificates and Awards

  • 11.1Preliminary Round awards are issued as e-Certificates and are available for download from the participant’s Brainiacs Olympiad account.
  • 11.2No physical certificate or medal is provided for the Preliminary Round.
  • 11.3Preliminary Round participants may not request or claim a physical medal, certificate, trophy, or other physical award from Brainiacs Olympiad or its local partners.
  • 11.4Preliminary Round e-Certificates may be issued according to the participant’s score and the applicable award criteria for the relevant discipline.
  • 11.5Global Final awards, including medals, certificates, trophies, or other official awards, are presented according to the applicable Global Final award structure.
  • 11.6Global Final awards are presented during the official ceremony, subject to the applicable event arrangements.
  • 11.7Award levels, including Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention, or other distinctions, may vary according to the relevant discipline and competition rules.

12Local Representatives and Partners

  • 12.1Brainiacs Olympiad may work with local representatives, coordinators, schools, organizations, and other partners for registration, communication, promotion, event organization, or participant assistance.
  • 12.2Unless expressly authorized, a local partner is not the owner or operator of the Brainiacs Olympiad competition.
  • 12.3Local partners may not change official competition rules, qualification criteria, examination results, or award decisions.
  • 12.4Local partners may not issue physical Preliminary Round medals or certificates unless Brainiacs Olympiad expressly announces otherwise for a specific edition.
  • 12.5Participants should rely on official Brainiacs Olympiad communications for rules, results, qualification decisions, and award information.

13Participant Accounts and Platform

  • 13.1Participants may receive a personal Brainiacs Olympiad platform account.
  • 13.2Participants are responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential.
  • 13.3Participants may not share their credentials or allow another person to access their account to complete competition activities.
  • 13.4Participants must keep their account information accurate and up to date.
  • 13.5Technical problems should be reported through the official support channels as soon as possible.
  • 13.6Brainiacs Olympiad may temporarily restrict platform access for maintenance, security, technical reasons, or other legitimate purposes.

14Disqualification and Cancellation

  • 14.1Brainiacs Olympiad may disqualify participants for cheating, plagiarism, impersonation, fraud, manipulation, unauthorized assistance, or serious violations of these Terms & Conditions or applicable competition rules.
  • 14.2Participants may also be disqualified for providing false personal information or documents.
  • 14.3Following disqualification, Brainiacs Olympiad may cancel the participant’s score, qualification, ranking, certificate, medal, or other award.
  • 14.4Results may be withheld while an investigation is conducted when necessary to protect competition integrity.
  • 14.5Disqualification and competition-integrity decisions are made by Brainiacs Olympiad according to the applicable rules.

15Intellectual Property

  • 15.1Brainiacs Olympiad names, logos, trademarks, website content, examination materials, designs, certificates, graphics, and other official materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
  • 15.2Participants may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, publish, or commercially use confidential examination or official competition materials without prior authorization.
  • 15.3Participants retain ownership of their original project work, subject to any rights or permissions expressly granted to Brainiacs Olympiad under the applicable rules.
  • 15.4By submitting a project or participating in an official event, participants may permit Brainiacs Olympiad to use relevant submissions, photographs, videos, names, school information, or competition results for legitimate educational, informational, archival, and promotional purposes, subject to applicable law and required consent.

16Privacy and Personal Information

  • 16.1Brainiacs Olympiad may collect and process personal information necessary for registration, identification, examinations, communication, results, certificates, events, and other legitimate competition purposes.
  • 16.2Participants must provide accurate information required for participation.
  • 16.3Personal information will be handled according to applicable privacy and data-protection requirements and the Brainiacs Olympiad privacy policy, where applicable.
  • 16.4Participants should not submit unnecessary sensitive or confidential information through public competition channels.

17Changes to the Competition

  • 17.1Brainiacs Olympiad may amend competition dates, formats, schedules, disciplines, qualification requirements, procedures, or other operational details when reasonably necessary.
  • 17.2Changes may result from technical issues, organizational requirements, force majeure, government restrictions, venue availability, security considerations, or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Brainiacs Olympiad.
  • 17.3Material changes will be communicated through official channels where reasonably possible.
  • 17.4Participants are responsible for reviewing official announcements and updates relevant to their participation.

18Complaints, Appeals, and Decisions

  • 18.1Questions or complaints concerning registration, examinations, projects, results, or other competition matters should be submitted through official Brainiacs Olympiad channels.
  • 18.2Appeals must be submitted within the period specified by Brainiacs Olympiad for the relevant competition or decision.
  • 18.3Appeals should provide sufficient information to identify the participant, discipline, round, and issue.
  • 18.4Brainiacs Olympiad will review legitimate complaints and appeals according to the applicable competition rules.
  • 18.5Decisions regarding examination results, qualification, rankings, awards, and academic-integrity matters are final unless an applicable appeal procedure expressly provides otherwise.

19Acceptance of Terms

  • 19.1By registering for or participating in Brainiacs Olympiad, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions and the applicable competition rules.
  • 19.2Where the participant is a minor, participation may also require consent or authorization from a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized person according to applicable requirements.
  • 19.3If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • 19.4These Terms & Conditions should be read together with the official competition rules, registration information, FAQ, privacy policy, and other official announcements.
  • 19.5If general explanatory information conflicts with specific official rules applicable to a competition stage, Brainiacs Olympiad may issue an official clarification identifying the applicable rule.
  • 19.6By participating in Brainiacs Olympiad, you agree to follow these Terms & Conditions.
